Winding down JK House in Chandigarh painful reality for J&K People

After the abrogation of article 370 the Jammu and Kashmir House in Chandigarh has been just reserved for Ladakh people only, giving nothing to people of Jammu and Kashmir in terms of accommodation at the world famous city of Chandigarh.

Many from Kashmir who go to the city especially for treatment are facing hurdles.

Scores of patients, students, businessmen, travelers etc visit Chandigarh for diverse needs, especially from Kashmir.

The patients who are frequently visiting the PGI hospital Chandigarh for treatment here have demanded authorities to come up with separate building for J&K residents or reserve the J&K house for the people of both UT.

To add to the woes, the behavior of Manager towards people of Jammu and Kashmir is rude when they inquire about accommodation needs. He is holding double the charge of Amritsar and Chandigarh of Jammu and Kashmir Houses.

Javeid Ahmad Khan, who recently went to Chandigarh for treatment stated:” It is a matter of great misfortune that in a city like Chandigarh wherein many from Jammu and Kashmir visit for health needs, nothing is available in terms of accommodation.

The Jammu and Kashmir House has been fully reserved for people of Ladakh and there is nothing for people of Jammu and Kashmir in terms of accommodation. “

People urge on the authorities to have a feasible accommodation for people of Jammu and Kashmir too in an important city like Chandigarh.

    There is a 5 story building in sector 17 Chandigarh which belongs to j&k govt. is being converted into a guest house for the people of j&k ,it should be made functional at the earliest, as far as sector 5 kashmir house is concerned its failure of our officials who let it go out of their hands , it’s a priced property spread in nine kanals of land ,
