Will North Pole, South Pole Govern J&K Effectively?

New Delhi, February 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Peoples Democratic Party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed met here on Friday and sealed the alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the PDP to form a coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir which seemed almost impossible a few months ack. Political Pandits are stating that the coming together of these two parties for government formation in Jammu and Kashmir is akin to North and South Pole coming together. Even Mufti Sayeed has termed the BJP-PDP alliance as coming together of ‘North Pole and South Pole’ and added that “I told Prime Minister that I have a dream of making Jammu and Kashmir an island of peace and we also need to engage Pakistan in that,”. As experts have nicely dubbed it as that both the PDP and the BJP are expected to continue to reach a compromise but the chances of consummation appear very remote. With former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has stated that with Mufti-Modi hug, capital of Jammu and Kashmir shifted to Nagpur hints clearly that opposition is going to be stiff for PDP- BJP Government. Now the question that the next few months and years will answer in Jammu & Kashmir is how the North Pole and South Pole Govern when they come together in an alliance. Expediting the relief and rehabilitation of flood affected families of Kashmir could set positive tones for PDP-BJP Alliance.
