Srinagar: Peoples Political Party Chairman, Hilal Ahmad War Friday opened communication channel and offered his party’s three point formula— ‘HILAL Formula’ for the resolution of Kashmir while as questioned interlocutors for calling Peoples Conference led by Sajjad Lone as separatist party.
He said It is sad that the group of interlocutors on Kashmir are trying to give the notion that nobody in the pro-freedom camp has a roadmap or solution. Just because some leaders in the resistance camp confess they have nothing to offer doesn’t mean the search should stop there. Kashmir issue isn’t represented by such handful of people. The three internationally recognized and acclaimed formulae viz Dixon Plan, Kathwari Formula and the PPP’s Hilal Formula are strong evidence that Kashmiris do have solutions to offer to the Govt. of India, Pakistan and other movers and shakers of the international politics. So the excuse that Kashmiri leadership has nothing to offer hence the issue stands stalled can have no buyers.
“Freedom is the fundamental of any Sovereign Republic and it is no sin for people of J & K to ask for this minimum demand to shape their political future with honor and dignity, at par with all civilized nationalities of the world,” War said while addressing reporters here.
He said that there should be no reaction from any democrat to resist this “genuine” demand of the people who, he said, have offered disproportionate and unimaginable sacrifices to attain it.
War, who called himself as a watchdog, said that the Kashmir problem was about the very existence of the people of J & K State irrespective of religion, caste, creed or language. “It has to be settled by each and every common man of Jammu and Kashmir. No person or party or conglomerate can be allowed by common man of Jammu and Kashmir to act as political Attorney of the common man.”
He said that the Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh, needs to enact his role of a bold visionary and consider a solution to Kashmir outside the rubric of Indian federalism. Because unresolved Kashmir issue is causing constant potential threat to Nuclear War hovering over the whole subcontinent and can engulf the whole world at any point of time.
Keeping all aspects of Kashmir problem and sentiments of the people of Indo- Pak subcontinent in view, he said that PPP has been advocating a 3-point formula since August 10, 1996 for settling Kashmir problem.
He claimed that the formula was the only viable, practicable and achievable solution to Kashmir problem and to bring about peace in this region.
PPP, he said, takes the lead once again to offer the Hilal Formula to the Government of India, Pakistan and the international fraternity, so that the miseries of the Kashmiris end once and for all. War has sent a copy of his formula to the New Delhi appointed interlocutors.
Responding to a query, he said that independent MLA from Langate Er Rashid was more separatists than Sajjad Lone and questioned the invitation to Lone by the interlocutors in the capacity of a separatist leader. He also referred as Confidence Building Measures to the four and five point formulas by parallel factions of Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
