Wandena, Shopian encounter concludes,One more militant killed

Srinagar, (KMW News): The encounter at Wandena, Zainapora, Shopian concluded this evening with the elimination of another militant. As has been reported earlier, on specific information, Police, 55 RR and CRPF had launched a joint operation yesterday. one militant was killed yesterday.
The militants have been identified as Sajad Yousuf Mir son of Mohammad Yousuf resident of Litter Pulwama and Mohammad Ashraf Rather @ Molvi resident of Nowpora, Pulwama. Sajad was Divisional Commander and Financial chief of Hizbul Mujahideen for South Kashmir, while Ashraf was District Commander.
The militant duo was involved in the killing of Sarpanch, Ghulam Mohammad Bhat of Kulpora, Pulwama and Mudasir Ahmad of Aharmulla, Pulwama this year. Both of these militants were involved in the killing of Showkat Ahmad Rather of Grawgund Bandina, Pulwama in 2010 and army man, Mehraj-ud-Din of Chandgam, Pulwama in 2010.
Ashraf was also involved in the abduction and killing of Maft Ahmad Rather son of Ghulam Mohammad Rather of Litter, Pulwama in 2005 and in the abduction and killing of Ghulam Mohammad Rather of Litter, Pulwama in 2010. Two AK 47 rifles, two pistols, four grenades, one UBGL and two magazines have been recovered from the encounter site.
