Veer Baal Diwas celebrated with enthusiasm at Bal-Ashram, Kargil

Kargil, Dec 19: A week-long program of Veer Baal Diwas was organized and celebrated with great enthusiasm at Bal-Ashram, Baroo, Kargil.

The program commenced on 18th December 2024, was graced by the presence of District Child Protection Officer, Kargil/District Social Welfare Officer, Kargil, Abdul Majid Tantary.

In his address, Tantary highlighted the significance of Veer Baal Diwas. He emphasized the importance of education and development of child care. He stressed that the day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the younger generation and the need to provide them with a nurturing environment that fosters their growth and development.

The Veer Baal Diwas celebrations began with a series of exciting events, including a drawing competition, essay writing and quiz competition. Students from Az-Zahra Orphanage, Kargil, Jawadiah Project Care, Minjee, and Bal-Ashram participated in the events, showcasing their talents and skills.

The week-long program provided a platform for children to express themselves, showcase their talents, and learn about the importance of Veer Baal Diwas. The event was a huge success, with participants and attendees alike praising the organizers for their efforts in making the program a memorable one.

The drawing competition, which was part of the Veer Baal Diwas celebrations at Bal-Ashram, Kargil, saw enthusiastic participation from students of various child care institutions. After careful evaluation, the judges announced the winners of the competition.

The team from Az-Zahra Orphanage, Kargil, took home the first prize in the drawing competition, showcasing their impressive artistic skills. Mustafa and his team from Bal Ashram secured the second position, demonstrating their creativity and talent. Imtiyaz and his team from Bal Ashram won the third position, impressing the judges with their artistic abilities.

While in quiz competition, Team Jawadiah Care Project secured the first position, while Bal-Ashram team and Team Az-Zahra secured the second and third positions, respectively.

The winners were awarded prizes and certificates of appreciation, recognizing their achievements and encouraging them to continue exploring their creative talents.

The success of the drawing competition and the overall Veer Baal Diwas celebrations would not have been possible without the support and participation of the child care institutions, government agencies, and community members.

The program was attended by wardens and teachers of Child Care Institutions of Kargil, along with their students. Staff members from the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Kargil, Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) Kargil, Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Kargil, and Child Helpline (CHL) Kargil, Bal Ashram, Kargil also participated in the celebrations.

The celebration served as a testament to the district’s commitment to promoting the welfare and development of children. The program’s success is a result of the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders, including government agencies, child care institutions, and community.
