Kargil, March 01: The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ladakh, Prof. (Dr.) Saket Kushwaha today paid a courtesy visit to Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, at the Council Secretariat in Kargil.
The CEC congratulated the Vice Chancellor and expressed his appreciation, stating that the region is fortunate to have a leader like him guiding the university.
Dr. Akhoon appreciated and congratulated the Vice Chancellor for establishing his office at the Kargil Campus of UoL and for staying on campus for at least a week each month along with university officials.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the introduction of new academic programs in Kargil Campus and GDC Kargil.
The Vice Chancellor informed the CEC about the establishment of new research center in GDC Kargil and a major research center in Kargil Campus.
Seeking support of LAHDC-Kargil for these initiatives, the Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of collaboration in advancing higher education in the region. In response, the CEC assured his full support to facilitate the university’s academic and infrastructural developments.
Apart from this discussions on other relevant issues concerning higher education and research in the region were also deliberated upon.
The meeting was attended by Dean Agriculture Sciences, SAS&T- Kargil, Principal Scientist, KVK-I Kargil, Incharge Administration, Kargil Campus, University of Ladakh, along with other officials.
