US govt should follow protocol when Indian dignitaries visit: Krishna

Bangalore: External Affairs Minister S M Krishna has said the incident of frisking of former President A P J Abdul Kalam was very serious issue and the US government should follow the protocol whenever an Indian dignitary visits the nation.
Speaking to reporters here yesterday after meeting the official of Indian Ocean Rim Association for Cooperation (IOR-ARC), Mr Krishna said the Indian government had asked the Indian ambassador to the US Ms Nirupama Rao to take up the matter with the state department of the US.
“The US has already apologised over the incident…We hope such incident will not occur again,” he said.
Mr Krishna said the US government should follow the protocol whenever Indian dignitaries visit there.
