Washington, April The US administration has distanced itself from Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s trip to Pakistan this week.
Addressing reporters on Thursday, State Department spokesperson Ned Price said: “As I understand it, Representative Omar is not visiting Pakistan on US government-sponsored travel.”
The US response is followed by India’s condemnation of Omar’s visit to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Condemning her visit, India’s External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said on Thursday: “We have noted that she has visited parts of the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir that is currently illegally occupied by Pakistan.
“If such a politician wishes to practice her narrow-minded politics at home, that may be her business.
“But violating our territorial integrity and sovereignty in its pursuit makes it ours… the visit is condemnable.
