Srinagar: Reacting to United Nations general secretary, Ban ki Moon’s recent statement on Kashmir, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani Saturday said the international body should uphold the resolutions passed by it regarding Kashmir and “instead of issuing mere statements take concrete steps to press India for resolving the issue.”He was addressing public gatherings in south Kashmir’s Tral area today, according to a spokesman.Welcoming the recent statement of Organization of Islamic Countries regarding the right to self determination of Kashmiris, Geelani said the “57 Muslim countries should utilize all their resources to press India for resolving the issue.”Geelani alleged that the army had occupied 65 kanals of land and if the “trend continues the day would not be far when Kashmiris would be forced to migrate from their own land like the people of Palestine.”“India is looting our natural resources like water and forest and luring gullible Kashmiris in its trap in the name of developmental works,” he said.According to kmw , rejecting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s statements about zero tolerance to human rights abuses in kashmir, Geelani said  “Indian forces are subjecting kashmiris under oppression and our youth and leaders are languishing in jails in inhumane conditions.” “On one hand Indian forces have unleashed a reign of terror on ordinary civilians while on the other hand; New Delhi is using cultural aggression to strengthen its occupation of Kashmir. We have to fight on both fronts,” he said.
