Kyiv, May 16 A Ukrainian unit fighting against the Russian troops in north of Kharkiv celebrated victory on Monday as they reached the Russian border.
According to CNN, a video released by the unit showed a small group carrying a blue and yellow stake to the border line and said, “Mr President, we made it!”
The military said that around Kharkiv “the enemy is concentrating its main efforts on maintaining its positions and preventing the advance of our troops” in the direction of the border.
Last week, the Ukrainian official said they were liberating villages on the outskirts of the city.
Meanwhile, the foreign ministers of Austria and Estonia have said that there is a possibility of sixth EU sanctions package against Russia.
Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg has expressed confidence that the package will be “done in the next days.”
Speaking ahead of an EU-Canada Joint Ministerial Committee meeting in Brussels, he said that the sixth sanctions package would be “very substantial,” but there was still “a certain need for discussion”, CNN reported.
The whole whole Russian military complex would be targeted in the next set of sanctions, he added.
