Srinagar, Apr 9 (KMW): The UJC supremo and Hizb chief Syed Sallah-ud-dinon Thursday said a ‘conspiracy’ for changing Kashmir’s demography is being hatched with Kashmiri pandits being used for it.
In an emailed statement issued to KMW, Syed Sallah-ud-din while addressing a convention of jihad council said that Government of India is hell bent to fan the communal fires in Kashmir and pandits are being used for the purpose. He said that if pandits want to return to their homeland, there would be no objection to this but according separate homeland to them will be unacceptable and shall be opposed.
“History stands witness to the fact that there were around more than 37000 comunal riots after the partition but Kashmir always remained safe from such mayhem and blodd shed while upholding the ethos religious harmony and tolerance in the region. Even when Muslims were being massacred in the sub continent after 1947, the Muslims of Kashmir protected the non- Muslim brethren and safeguarded their lives.”
He added that in 1990, a conspiracy was hatched by the then governor jagmohan in which pandits under a well planed manner were separated from their homeland. “Now when plans for giving separate homeland to the pandits are being made, it is clear that India wants to unleash communal tensions in the region and wants to stir the communal harmony in the region. Pandits are being used for this conspiracy at present. Such actions will have dangerous repercussions and not only the people but also the militants will oppose it.”
The statement quoting Syed Sallah-ud-din stated that the protest and strike call given by the pro-freedom camp on April 10 and 11 will be supported.
