Bhopal, June 29 Squarely blaming the law-enforcement establishment for the Udaipur incident, AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said on Wednesday that the gruesome murder of tailor Kanhaiyalal could have been prevented if Rajasthan Police had exercised due vigilance.
During an interaction with reporters in the Madhya Pradesh capital, the visiting politician reiterated his condemnation of the grisly homicide and averred, “There is not even a vestige of doubt that it is an act of terror. The killing was perpetrated and recorded by a couple of cruel individuals. A video went viral in social media.”
The AIMIM supremo alleged that the 2017 lynching of dairy farmer Pehlu Khan in Alwar district and the 2015 lynching of Mohd Akhlaq – near Dadri in Uttar Pradesh – also fell into the terror category.
“I learnt through media that Kanhaiyalal was receiving constant threats. In Telangana, those threatening the BJP’s erstwhile spokesperson Nupur Sharma were placed under arrest forthwith,” he added.
Mr Owaisi is in Madhya Pradesh to campaign in favour of AIMIM candidates contesting civic bodies’ polls.
Vehemently objecting to the apprehending of journalist Mohammed Zubair by Delhi Police, the AIMIM chief wondered why Ms Sharma is still free.
“Suspension is no punishment,” he underlined and added that bigotry is escalating in every community.
Regarding the international scene, Mr Owaisi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is silent over China’s anti-India activities along the common border.
“I have been ceaselessly raising the issue,” he said.
The AIMIM plans to field nominees in the 2023 Madhya Pradesh Assembly election.
