Two militants, soldier killed in Handwara gunfight

Srinagar: Two unidentified militants were killed in an encounter with Handwara police and 30 RR in Handwara. An Army Jawan also lost his life in the encounter.

During the intervening night of 24/25.09.2012, Handwara police alongwith 30 RR launched a search operation in village Haril Manzpora, Handwara in the jurisdiction of police station Kalamabad. The militants fired upon the search party which was retaliated triggering an encounter in which two militants were killed. An Army Jawan Sandeep Kumar of 30 RR also lost his life in the encounter. Two AK 47 rifles and six AK magazines were recovered from the slain militants. (KMW News)
