Srinagar: Army on Tuesday claimed to have busted two hideouts of militants in Baramulla and Doda districts, officials told.  A defence ministry spokesman here said that 52 Rashtriya Rifles (JAK RIF) and the Special Operations Group of Police, busted a hideout in an orchard in Batpora, Ningeli in Sopore town of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. “Six AK rifles, 13 pistols and an Under Barrel Grenade Launcher and other warlike stores including eight kilograms of explosives and Improvised Explosive Device making stores were recovered,†the spokesman said. As per the spokesman, this was the third major cache recovery in this month in the north Kashmir. Nineteen weapons were recovered in the dense forests of Trehgam on May 06 while 13 weapons were found in Rajwar forest on 08 May last in the same area which borders the Line of Control. “The weapons and other warlike stores were meant either as supplies to new incoming infiltrating cadre or resupply to resident cadre for creating mayhem. They were in a properly packed state and were pretty new in their origin date,” the spokesman added,  Meanwhile, an army statement here said that its troops busted a militant hideout in Doda district.  The statement said that based on inputs, a  joint column of 26 Rashtriya Rifles and Police launched searches in Khariyali Got area in the.  During the operation, a natural cave type hide out was busted and recoveries included two partially prepared IEDs , a wireless set, one SLR Magazine,  15 rounds of ammunition, two Tarpaulines, a blanket and iron box.
