Two LeT militants killed in Doda

Srinagar: Two lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants were killed in an encounter with joint team of police and army in Doda district of Jammu, official sources told on Fridat.A statement by army said that based on intelligence reports about the presence of two militants in Wanipura area in Doda district, a joint operation was launched by 10 Rashriya Rifles and police. As the team was advancing, the militants opened fire which was retaliated.   In the ensuing gun battle, two militants identified as Javed Iqbal Malik alias Abu Hurera and Akhtar Hussein Lone alias Mubbasir of LeT were killed, army said. “An AK series rifle, a 303 rifle and an Under Barrel Grenade Launcher were recovered from the possession of the militants,” army said.About Abu Hurrera of village Kashriyan in Kothi Bowl, Doda, army said, he was active since July 2008 while Mubbasir, resident of Malna Doda was active since August 2009.
