Ranchi, May 5 Trouble has increased for actress Amisha Patel after the Jharkhand High Court on Thursday rejected a quashing petition filed by her.
The court of Justice SK Dwivedi after hearing the arguments of all the parties concerned decided not to give any respite to the Bollywood actress. A lower court in Ranchi had issued summons to her in case of fraud which was challenged by her in the high court.
Earlier on April 28 also hearing was held in the case during which the lawyers of the actress had sought time to file their response which was accepted on that day by the court.
A case of fraud was registered against the actress by Ajay Kumar Singh of Harmu. It has alleged
that Ajay Kumar Singh had been asked by the actress to invest money in movie making. For a filmed titled Desi Magic Ajay Kumar Singh had transferred Rs 2.50 crore in the bank account of the actress.
But as the film never went on the floor he demanded his money back. Patel gave her a cheque which bounced after which the matter went to the court. The lower court issued summons to her which she challenged in the High Court.
