Kargil, Jan 11: Executive Councillor, RD/PRI/Zanskar Affairs/ZDA, LAHDC, Kargil, Er. Punchok Tashi today inaugurated Training of Trainers (TOT) in tailoring for LRLM SHG members of Block Karsha and Zanskar marking a milestone in empowering rural women.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of other sub-division officers, including SDAO Zanskar, Supervisor Handloom, BDO Karsha/Zanskar, AEE REW, DPM LRLM Kargil, Master Trainers, Trainees, and SHG members of Block Karsha and Zanskar. BDO Zanskar welcomed the guests with traditional khataks.
The TOT program commences for 06 months and aims to enhance the tailoring skills of LRLM SHG members, promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
The initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the economic empowerment of rural women in the Zanskar region. The program concluded successfully with a vote of thanks by Panchayat Secretary, Nawang Yountan.
