Srinagar: Police and army Saturday claimed to have arrested three militants including one involved in Friday’s attack on a police station in Sopore town of Baramulla district in north Kashmir.In a handout issued here this afternoon, a police spokesman said that Tanveer Ahmad Sheeru, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheeru of Arampora-Sopore, a Lashkar militant was arrested by police after his name surfaced during the course of investigation. Tanveer, the spokesman claimed was involved in hurling a grenade at the police station Sopore on Friday afternoon that caused injuries to six people, including a police head constable.“Following a tip-off, police was able to arrest him. A case FIR No 173/2011 under sections 307/RPC, 7/27 of Indian Arms Act has been registered and further investigations have been initiated,†the spokesman said.Tanveer, the spokesman said was earlier arrested on the charges of stone pelting. “He was involved in a case FIR No17/2010 under sections 336, and 307 of RPC P/S Sopore,†the spokesman added.Meanwhile, army’s 29 Rashtriya Rifles claimed that it arrested two Hizbul Mujahiddin militants, in Pattan area of district. “The militants were nabbed from an orchard on the outskirts of Chukar village in Pattan,†an officer of 29 RR told.  He said that two Chinese Pistols alongwith ammunitions were recovered from the possession of the militants identified as Javed Ahmed Mir alias Sajjad and Mehrajuddin Malik alias Salim.
