Srinagar, (KMW News):Tehreek e Hurriyat Kashmir today officially inaugurated ‘Syed Ali Geelani Blood Bank’ at its central office Hyderpora here. On the eve of Wordl Blood Donors Day, hundreds of volunteers and youth donated their blood at makeshift camp for said blood bank.
“Syed Ali Geelani who is under continuous detention inaugurated the ceremony and addressed the occasion. While inaugurating the function, Syed Ali Geelani announced that similar blood bank would be set up in Azad Kashmir and that in future blood camps would be organised at different district head quarters in stateâ€, the spokesman of TeH said in a statement issued here. Addressing on the occasion, Syed Ali Geelani hailed the enthusiasm among youth and expressed his desire to donate his blood but keeping his age and multiple ailments in consideration, doctors attending the camp prevented him. Syed Ali Geelani in his address while highlighting the need and aims for establishing blood bank, said that Jammu & Kashmir figures among the conflict zones and at tense situations and in emergencies , the desperate people and injured persons need blood and our assistance and added we want to come to their rescue and mitigate their sufferings .
Syed Ali Geelani in his brief address said that the spirit of generosity and passion being the pivotal for the said blood bank added that we need to help sick and needy who for some reason are not in a position to manage it. Syed Ali Geelani said that without taking into consideration religion, race, nationality or region, added service to mankind being symbolic for Muslim Umah, these services to needy would be provided on humanitarian grounds. Syed Ali Geelani said that faith in Almighty Allah, life Hear after and brotherhood constitutes the principle that form the guideline for us to provide humanitarian services to our brethren. Syed Ali Geelani said that keeping in view the requirements of freedom movement; the blood bank was established to promote the spirit of self help and sympathy among youth. Ayaz Akbar, Spokesman of Syed Ali Geelani in a statement said that among hundreds of voluntary donators, pro-freedom leaders, political activists, those people also donated their blood whose near and dear ones obtained martyrdom during ongoing freedom movement. Spokesman said that among the donors were a couple (Bashir Ahmad and his wife) from main city, reached the camp early in morning and when asked about the motive behind donating their blood, replied they are donate blood for movement and would continue in future if and when need arises. A young boy when asked about the motive, said Ayaz Akbar, replied that he wishes to pay tribute to his slain father and expressed his hope that the soul of his father would feel solace and satisfaction. Chairman Syed Ali Geelani while thanking the staff members of Lel Ded Hospital for their cooperation, expressed hope that they would cooperate in future too. Syed Ali Geelani also appreciated youth who voluntarily donated their blood and expressed his hope that similar camps would be organised in remaining districts of state and in his appeal, Syed Ali Geelani stressed upon youth to reaffirm their faith in freedom struggle and dedicated their services for suffering society.
