Taj inaugurates Rs. 2.8 Cr Bridge at Dachi

JAMMU: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and flood control Mr. Taj Mohi -u-Din today inaugurated a bridge at village Dachi in Tehsil Uri. The project has been completed at a cost of Rs. 2.8 crore.
Constructed by NHPC, the bridge will facilitate hassle free vehicular and pedestrian movement of the inhabiting Dachi village and its adjoining areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Taj said that the Coalition Government is providing all possible support to NHPC in its construction projects, as such it should also reciprocate by ensuring that local youth are employed in all its projects on priority, besides providing free power supply to the residents living within 5 km radius of such projects as per the agreement. He said direction has also been issued to the NHPC authorities to employ locals on class IV posts in its projects.
Mr. Taj also stressed on providing full compensation to the land owners whose land has been acquired for the construction of these projects. He directed SDM, Uri to identify land for the development of parks near the project site for recreation of the local population. He also advocated shifting of NHPC godown in consonance with public demand.
NHPC Mineral manager, Mr. P.C. Gautam, SDM, Uri, Chief Engineer Irrigation besides a large number of people were present on the occasion.
