Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani is the new IGP, Kashmir

Srinagar, March 18(KMW): Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani today took over as Inspector General of Police, Kashmir.
SJM Geelani a 1994 batch IPS officer assumed the office of IGP Kashmir today at Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar.
Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani is an alumnus of Sainik School, Manasbal. Besides, serving the state in various important capacities including IGP Crime, SSP Srinagar, AIG (P), he held important posts in Central Bureau of Investigation. A decorated officer who has been awarded with many medals including Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Services in 2012, Indian Police Medal for Gallantry and Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medals for Meritorious Service and Gallantry.
