New Delhi, Sept 26: Army chief General Bipin Rawat on Monday said the cross-LoC surgical strike last year was a message to Pakistan and hinted at more strikes in the future if necessary.
“The strikes were a message we wanted to communicate. I think they understood what we meant. These things could follow, if required,†Rawat said in response to a question on whether the message intended to be given through the September 28-29 surgical strike across the Line of Control in Pakistan-administered Kashmir was conveyed, in view of the continuing infiltration attempts and terror incidents.
He was speaking after the launch of book ‘India’s Most Fearless’, along with former Army chief General Dalbir Singh (retd). The book has accounts of modern-day heroes from the three armed forces, including from those who led the surgical strikes conducted along the Myanmar border and across the LoC. (news agency)
