Strike cripples life in parts of South Kashmir

Srinagar | Wednesday, Sep 3: Life was today paralysed in parts of south Kashmir district of Pulwama, where three militants of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) were killed in an encounter with security forces.

Shops and businesses establishments in Hanjan, Aglar, Rajpora and near by areas remained closed and traffic was off the road.

Education institutions also remained closed and work in government offices and banks was effected.

Additional security forces have been deployed in these areas to maintain law and order.

Three militants, including a district commander of JeM, were killed by security forces at Hanjan yesterday.

Later, security forces burst teargas shells and resorted to laticharge to disperse demonstrators who were pelting stones at Rajpora.
