St. Mary’s Infant Convent School (SMICS) Jammu held a colossal event at Govt Polytechnic Auditorium to celebrate a decade of triumphs galore in scholastic and co-scholastic arenas. The bright and cheery decennary celebrations on the theme of “Dances of India” combinedmusic, dance, and drama to put an exotically picturesque display of rich cultural legacy of India which has dance at its heart.
Parents embellished the occasion with their baronial presence. With the draw of lots, select parents were chosen as the Chief Guests, who were then honored with potted plants.The special vedettes – Mrs. Anna Mary, Chairperson of the Schooland Mr. Anthony Ignatius, Director of SMICS, along with the chief guests commenced the ceremony with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, which was followed by a cosmic dance to evoke divine spirituality.
The cultural spectacle to mark the distinguished accomplishments of students at the 10th Annual day celebration of SMICSconsisted of a rich and rhythmic medley of enthralling dancedisplays by tiny tots adorned in colorful costumes. Students from nursery to class three participated with full verve and vigor in an array of riveting performances such aslove-inspired dance drama,Jungle dance, Bihu dance, Goan dance, Rajasthani dance, Lavani dance, Punjabi dance, and several contemporary danceswhich lulled the hearts of one and all.
Parents beamed with pride seeing their little ones in the spotlight throughout the magnificent ceremony and praised the school for providing their children with a stellar enlightening odyssey. Mrs. Anna Mary and Mr. Anthony Ignatiusfelicitated the guests and teachers, and expressed their deepest gratitude towards each person who has supported the school in the ten years of making significant differences in young hearts, minds, and lives.
Principal of the school, Mrs. Sheetal Anthony, beamed with pride as she gave an overview of the year’s achievements.Mrs. Shazia Kalyan, school coordinator, presented the welcome speech, whereas Ms. Komal Chauhan and Ms. Nausheen proposed the formal vote of thanks. Other key members of the staff – Mrs. Afshan Khan, Mrs. Ruksar Bhatti, and Mrs. Ashwarya, helped compere and coordinate the event. The dynamic and mesmerizing cultural fiesta culminated into a grand finale that sketched an acme of students’ creative impressions and demonstrated exhilarating effects at St. Mary’s Infant Convent School’s decennial celebrations.
