Srinagar: The 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway was closed this morning following slippery road condition due to fresh snowfall.
A traffic police official said that Jawahar tunnel and Banihal received fresh snowfall early this morning.
The road has become slippery and to avoid any tragedy, traffic was stopped, the official said.
He further added that decision to allow traffic will be taken later today.
The authorities had allowed only one way traffic on the highway, the only road linking the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, since December 13 following heavy snowfall.
Today vehicles were scheduled to proceed Jammu from Srinagar.
