Special prayers held at Martyrs’ Graveyard Eid Gah

SRINAGAR: Asking people of Kashmir to show complete resolve towards the “mission of martyrs who laid their lives for the cause,” Hurriyat Conference (M) Saturday said that “unity of thought, consistency and commitment towards the freedom struggle was prerequisite to achieve the goal.”

In a statement, the pro-freedom amalgam paid rich tributes to Jaleel Andrabi, Ashfaq Majeed Wani, Shabir Siddqui, and Dr Abdul Ahad Guru “on their martyrdom anniversaries.”
The statement said that the amalgam held special prayer session for the slain leaders at martyrs Graveyard, Iddgah, which was attended by senior Hurriyat leaders led by Javaid Ahmad Mir. “Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam, Engineer Hilal Ahamad War, Syed Salim Geelani, Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, Hakim Abdul Rashid, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Farooq Ahmad Saudagar and Jaffer Kashmiri participated in the prayers.”
“The leaders termed the sacrifices offered by the towering resistance leaders as priceless asset of freedom struggle.”
Speaking on the occasion, Javaid Ahmad Mir said that sacrifices offered by Kashmiris have brought Kashmir into international limelight.
“The importance to resolve the Kashmir dispute was felt by the world community only after sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs,” he said.
“By sacrificing their lives, the martyrs have show complete resolve and commitment towards freedom struggle,” he said adding, “Kashmiri leadership and people have shown and are continuing to offer their lives for the cause.”
He said that “it was important for people to remember sacrifices and show their commitment to strengthen the freedom movement.”
