Speaker visits Sonawari, listens public grievances

SRINAGAR: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Mr. Mohammad Akbar Lone today visited a number village like Madwan, Naidhkhai and Bakhshibal in Sonawari constituency and took stock of various ongoing developmental works.
Addressing a large public gathering at Bakshibal, the Speaker said that the government led by Omar Abdullah is committed to provide equal development opportunities to all parts of the State especially remote and far flung areas and weaker sections of the society. He assured people of Tragpora and Bakshibal that the area would be prioritised on the development front and renovation of Bakshibal road will be taken in hand shortly. He directed the Tehsildar Sumbal for taking measures in removing all bottle necks caused due to walnut trees which come in between this road.
Mr. Lone stressed upon the engineers accompanied him to work with utmost dedication and complete under execution works which include construction of link roads, laying of water supply pipes and providing un-interrupted power supply within a stipulated time frame.
Enroute, several deputations met the Speaker and apprised him about their problems like construction of lanes and drains, repairs of damaged transformers, renovation of playing fields and speed up of sanctioning of IAY cases. Mr. Lone heard them patiently and assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into.
A team of senior officers and engineers of district administration Bandipora accompanied the Speaker during his visit.
