Sopore attack leaves Municipal Councillor and Cop Dead

Sopore , 29 March : In a deadly militant attack in apple town Sopore , North Kashmir a Municipal Councilor and a Special Police Officer were killed and a civilian injured .

Official sources state that councilor Reyaz Ahmad Peer son of Ghulam Nabi Peer of Ningli Sopore, SPO Shafqat Nazir Khan son of Nazir Ahmad of Mundji Sopore and a civilian Shamas Din peer son of Ghulam Mohammad Peer were seriously injured in the attack at Sopore.

The injured were shifted to hospital where one of them, the councilor and the SPO succumbed to their injuries. The civilian has been referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment, they said.

On the otherhand , BJP BDC member Fareeda Khan was not in meeting and is safe. And her safety has been confirmed by the party .

Pertinent alll the students and Staff of nearby well known school Welkin School Sopore are safe and parents are requested not to panic.

Meanwhile area is currently under heavy cordon.
