Snow in upper reaches, rains lash plains in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 8 : The upper reaches in the Kashmir valley experienced fresh snowfall while plains, including summer capital, Srinagar, had moderate to heavy rains since last evening, causing great concern among the people, who suffered heavy damage in recent devastating floods.

The most affected are the families still living in tents after their houses were damaged in the floods.

A Met department spokesperson told  agency that the weather will remain cloudy during the next 24 hours. However, weather will improve from tomorrow afternoon, he said, adding “our entire system at Met headquarters at Ram Bagh has been damaged due to floods.” (Agency)
