Slathia launches various developmental works in border areas

JAMMU: Minister for Industries and commerce, Surjeet Singh Slathia today conducted a whirlwind tour of border area including Ramgarh, Govindgarh and other adjoining areas to review the ongoing developmental works in the area.
Addressing the gathering at Govindgarh, the Minister was apprised about the problems being faced by the people in the area.
Responding to the demands of the people, the Minister directed to the PHE authorities for installation of new tube well in the area, so that a long pending problem of scarcity of drinking water could be mitigated.
The Minister said that the government is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people in the state especially in the far-flung and border areas. He assured that every possible help will be extended to the border inhabitants through the welfare and development schemes launched by the government.
The Minister directed to the concerned authority for construction of nallah and lanes and drains in Govindgarh, so that sewerage water problem could be resolved. He also directed for repairing of electric wires, in the area. He announced for construction of Community Facility Centre in the area. He also assured for employment to the unemployed educated youth.
He directed the administration to identified right beneficiaries for old age pension and widow pension, so that pending pension cases would be resolved as early as possible.
He asked the administration to work with dedication to execute the Government welfare schemes for the welfare of the people. He directed to the officers that all development works should be completed within a stipulated time frame.
The Minister appealed to the people, for the judicious use of electricity in the area, as the power sector is facing the deficit in the revenue realization.
