Srinagar: Six people were killed and as many were injured in different road accidents in the Kashmir valley. Official sources said here today, a car skidded off the road and fell into a nullah at Padshahi Bagh Bypass resulting in on-the-spot death of Abdul Rashid Wagay, a Public Health Engineering department employee and injuries to four others — Ghulam Nabi Ganie, Yaripora, Showkat Ahmad Sofi and police officials Mushtaq Ahmad Nangru and Ali Muhammad of Saidinar.
They were immediately rushed to hospital where three were declared brought dead while Ali Muhammad was still in a critical condition.
They said a 38-year-old Choket Ram, a resident of Haripora Anchal, Bihar was hit and critically injured by a vehicle at Frasthar, Baramulla. He was immediately rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead.
One Vijay Kumar, a resident of Janipora, Jammu, was critically injured when a vehicle hit him at Nayar Gurez in north Kashmir. He was admitted to SKIMS, where he died.
A vehicle hit and injured Sameera Begum near here while a police Head Constable Vikram Singh was hit and injured by a vehicle at Humhama Chowk in Badgam. Both the injured were admitted to different hospitals, they said.
Three people identified as Jumaid Ahmad, Muzaffar Ahmad and Manzoor Ahmad were injured when their vehicle overturned at Kelaam in Kulgam. They injured were ospitalised.
