JAMMU: The Academy of Art, Culture and Language, Jammu today released a book entitled “Parag Ghazal Mala” in a function held at K. L. Saigal Hall.
Shyam Dutt Parag has written a number of books in Dogri and Hindi and is contribution yeoman services in promoting dogri language. He has recently been awarded by Sahitya Academy for his book “Bal Geet”.
Before releasing the book, the gathering paid rich tributes to vetern dogri writer, late Tara Samilpuri, recipient of Sahitiya Academy Award for his dogri book “Jeevan Lehrein”. A two-minutes silence was also observed to pay homage to the departed soul.
Additional Secretary Jammu, Smt. Savita Bakshi threw light on the life and works of Shyam Dutt Parag and concluded that Shayam Dutt Parag.
Padamshree, Dr. Jatinder Udampuri released the book.
Prof. Shiv Nirmohi, Dr. Gain Singh Additional Secretary(Editorial) Dr. Jitendra Udampuri, Prof. Satpaul Srivats, Smt Neeru Sharma Sr. Editor Hindi, Sh. T.R Sharma, Dr. R. C. Sharma expressed their views about the deceased.
Prof Sat Paul Srivats also read out a detailed paper on the life and work of Shyam Dutt Parag.
Editor Dogri, Brij Mohan conducted the proceedings of the programme.
