Shohab’s autobiography, Farat’s critic work released

JAMMU: Two books “Yadoon Ke Lams” by Prof Shohab Inayat Malik & “ Iqbal Majeed Fan, Fiction and Fankar” by Dr. Farat Shamim were today released at a simple but impressive function held here at Prof Gian Chand Jain Hall of Post Graduate Department Of Urdu, University of Jammu .
These books were released by Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Ghulam Hassan Mir, MLC & noted writer Mr. M.Y Taing and Chairman Kashmir Times Group Mr. Vaid Basin.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mir Congratulated both the writers for their literary work. He described the Prof Shohab Inayat Malik as a growing literary person of the state besides an able administrator as in his leadership, the Urdu Department of Jammu University has touched new heights with series national level literary activities being organized by the department. He said that in his autobiography Prof Shohab has highlighted the important events of his life which helped him in shaping his destiny.
While congratulating Dr. Farat Shamim for publishing her first book, Mr. Mir hoped that she will continue to contribute for the development of Urdu Language in the state.
In his presidential address, Mr. Taing who had also written the preface of the book “Yadoon Ke Lams” described the book important one as the events of the life of the writer were prescribed honestly. Lauding the role of Prof Shohab in the development of Urdu language in the state, Mr Taing said that his contribution is appreciable and asked him to continue it with same zeal and dedication. He said that his contribution in the literary world has brought the Jammu University in limelight, particularly the national level conferences on Urdu literature organized under his supervision. He also threw light on the culture, civilization, political situation and present prevailing literary scenario of the state.
Speaking on the Occasion, Mr Vaid Basin said that the writer has bravely threw light on the culture and civilization of some important places like Bhaderwah, Kishtiwar, Pakistan and Kashmir. He hoped the 2nd volume of his biography would provide more and more information to the readers. Mr Basin also congratulated Dr Farat for publishing her book in a simple lucid language.
Earlier while presenting his critical paper on “Yadoon Ke Lams”, Prof. Qudose Javed highlighted the qualities of the book and said that the book is important in the sense of depiction of socio-culture aspect of the state. He also spoke at length on the book titled“Iqbal Majeed Fan, Fiction and Fankar” and appreciated her efforts. (KMW News)
