Mumbai, Oct 29 Bollywood actor and model Sherlyn Chopra urges Mumbai police to assign a lady police officer to probe her alleged sexual harassment case against filmmaker Sajid Khan.
The actress had earlier filed a police complaint against Sajid Khan in response to it on Saturday she reached the Juhu police station in Mumbai to record her statement along with a battery of lady lawyers who were accompanying her .
While talking to media persons outside police station she said her statement was not recorded as the investigation officer was reportedly absent.
She said, “I’ve been told that the police officer to whom my case has been assigned isn’t present. I requested them to give me a lady officer so that I can give my statement. I want a fair probe. If they don’t want to take my statement they can say it clearly.”
“I have recently filed a complaint against MeToo accused Sajid Khan in Juhu Police Station for sexual exploitation, criminal force, and criminal intimidation. The first thing that the police asked me was when did this incident happen, to which I replied that it happened in 2005. Further, when they asked me why it took me so long to reach out to them, I said that back then I did not have the courage to file a sexual exploitation complaint against a big name like Sajid Khan,” she said.
The actor then shared that during the MeToo movement when the other women “came out fearlessly in the open to share their experiences in front of the media,” she also got the courage to speak out.
