Islamabad: Chairman of International Chamber for Peace and conciliation (ICPC), Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl has hailed the assertions of Pakistan Prime Mohammad Nawaz Sharief with regard to gravity of situation in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Processor Nazir Ahmad Shawl in a statement said that prior to his (Mohammad Nawaz Sharief) meeting to USA president Barrak Obama, PM Pakistan call for intervention of international community to address the longing lingering Kashmir dispute needs to be taken seriously by the USA administrating and all the well wishers of peace in the world.
Shawl said that the world needs to understand the undemocratic practices of India in the state of Jammu and Kashmir where even the right to life in addition to other fundamental freedoms is critically jeopardized. Indian rejection of sanity just demonstrates its intransigence. The claims of Indian Foreign Minister Salman Khurseed and Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde that Kashmir was its integral part are contrary to the documented international agreements and records of United Nations. Kashmir is a mandated disputed territory where United Nations resolutions have not be fully implemented so far. It is very important that India gives up its rigidity; ostrich like approach and aggress to an inclusive tripartite dialogue on Kashmir.
He added Kashmiris the basic party of dispute and need to be taken on board in Pak-India dialogue for an honorable, durable and permanent settlement of the dispute. It needs to be understood that Kashmiris right to self –determination is non negotiable.
In this connection Shawl also hailed the statement of chairman of the Muslim League -Nawaz (PML-N), Raja Zafarul Haq who has contested the Indian outburst on the PMS statement.
