Srinagar: A day after Sham Lal Sharma accused fellow party men of hatching conspiracy against him to ‘sabotage the ongoing enquiry into alleged PHE Scam’, Medical Education Minister and Senior Congress leader Taj Mohi ud din Tuesday said that health department was full of scams and the documentary evidences suggest that Sharma was involved in the spurious drug scam.
“I have already said that I have no skeletons in my cupboard, but yes Health department under Sham has been full of scandals,†Taj Mohi ud din told news agency on Tuesday. He rejected the charges of his fellow party colleague and said, that the sampling and testing of the ‘spurious’ drugs has been done in his own (Sham’s) tenure as Health Minster.
“Both sampling and testing has taken place when he was the concerned Minster so where do you find a role for politics in itâ€, asserted Taj adding that the matter was serious and there was documental evidence which proves that substandard medicine was supplied to hospitals.
Earlier while terming the infamous ‘drug scam’ as a political conspiracy against him, PHE Minster Sham Lal Sharma on Monday had said that there was a lobby in his party which hell bent to sabotage the enquiry he had initiated against his predecessor Taj Mohi ud din.
“Ever since I assumed Charge of PHE, my rivals began hatching conspiracies against me with an intention to thwart the ongoing enquiry in the PHE scams.†Sharma told news agency on Tuesday. He also said that politics was being played behind the curtain to frame (Sham) him in order to sabotage the PHE enquiry.
Meanwhile ridiculing Sham’s accusation, Medical Education Minister Taj Mohi ud din said that the minster (Sham) was ‘neck deep’ involved in the scam.
