Shahi Imam Bukhari attacked in Jama Masjid, escaped unhurt

New Delhi , Oct 26 :Iman Syed Ahmed Bukari of Jama Masjid was attacked while leading the Majrib Namaz (evening prayer) at the Jama Masjid here today.

The Imam escaped unhurt.

Police managed to get hold of the attacker.

The man allegedly threw a bottle of kerosene oil on him, but was caught by security guards, Mr Bukhari himself told news agency.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh talked to Mr Bukhari and assured him to conduct a probe into the incident.
