Defying strong and tight security restrictions the duo moved from the Freedom House Sanat-Nagar breaking the tight cordon of the security forces and successfully addressed a gathering of freedom lovers. Addressing the gathering Shabir Ahmad Shah said that the main-stream politicians had no moral as well as political right what so ever to visit the martyrs graveyard and pay their pseudo homages. Mr. War maintaining the same stand added further that the cause for which the martyrs of 1931 sacrificed their lives were completely antagonistic to what the main-stream leadership was based on in Kashmir at present.
While addressing the gathering the people present there raised Pro-freedom and anti-India slogans and started their march towards the martyrs graveyard in Down-Town Srinagar, which was foiled up by the security forces and the leaders (Shabir Ahmad Shah and Er. Hilal Ahmad War) were arrested and lodged in Sadar Police Station, Srinagar.
The other pro-freedom activists arrested on their way to the Martyr’s Graveyard include:- Shabir Ahmad Dar (Muslim Conference), Muhammad Yousuf Naqash (Islamic Political Party), Sheikh Zahoor and Wasim Lone (Democratic Freedom Party), Javid Mir (Liberation Front), Yasmin Raja (Muslim Khawateen Markaz), Imtiyaz Reshi and Maqbool Sofi (Peoples League).
