Srinagar: Noted lawyer and head of the four member committee, Ram Jethmalani, Friday said that the separatists want peace and not violence.   “All of them (separatists) are willing to talk on how to establish peace and prevent war and violence,†Jethmalani told reporters after meeting several separatist organizations including Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (R), Jammu and Kashmir National Front and Democratic Freedom Party. In his interaction with the vesting Kashmir Committee, JKNF chief, Nayeem Ahmad Khan reiterated that Kashmir was a political issue and not communal or law and order problem. “Until Kashmir issue was not resolved in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the people, peace will continue to elude the south Asia.He said that Indians as well as Indian parliamentarians have a great role in resolution of Kashmir. Flanked by other party members including advocate Rafiq Ahmad Joo and advocate Hial Ahmad Wani, JKNP also called for restoration of fundamental rights of the people and annulling of draconian laws prevalent in the state. Similar views were expressed by the DFP chief Shabir Ahmad Shah and the JKLF delegation. Kashmir Committee was constituted in 2002 to reach out to the separatists and other sections of the society. The committee had several visits to Kashmir until suspension of its operations. The member had met chairmen of the parallel factions, Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in its first visit to the valley after about ten years.
