Mumbai, Oct 9 The BSE Sensex on Monday crashed 483.24 pts to close at 65,512.39 on profit booking by local operators.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped 141.16 pts at 19,512.35.
The Sensex opened on a weak note at 65,560.07, fell 435 pts at opening session. It was dropped 561 pts at 65,434.61, days low, before closing at 65,512.39, sliding 483.24 pts from its previous close.
The stocks that dragged the market were BSE Services by 2.73 pc, Utilities by 1.93 pc, Power by 1.58 pc and Commodities by 1.30 pc.
The Mid Cap declined by 1.22 pc and. Small Cap by 1.72 pc.
In 30 scrips, 3 were advanced while 27 were down.
The losers were Tata Steel by 2.07 pc to Rs 123.30, M& M by 2.05 pc to Rs 1515.55, Bajaj Finance by 1.76 pc to Rs 8024 and SBI by 1.57 pc to Rs 584.75.
The gainers were HCL Technologies by 1.02 pc to Rs 1248.71, TCS by 0.36 pc to Rs 3633.30 and Hind Unilever by 0.32 to Rs 2506.75.
