GANDERBAL, NOVEMBER 07: Nomination papers of 15 candidates from 17-Ganderbal Assembly constituency passed the scrutiny conducted by the Returning Officer today.
The Scrutiny of papers for the 17-Ganderbal Assembly constituency was held today and 15 out of 16 candidates remained in the fray while one of the candidates was rejected.
A total of 16 nomination papers were received after the Election Commission issued the notification for the constituency which is going to polls in the first phase of the five phased election in the state of November 25, 2014. The notification for the constituency was issued on October 28 and the last fate for the filing of nominations was November 5, 2014. The last date for the withdrawal of nominations has been fixed as November 10, 2014.
The scrutiny of papers for the 16-Kangan Assembly Constituency was also conducted by the Returning Officer today and all the 10 candidates remained in the fray as none of the papers was rejected.
The scrutiny of nomination papers was also conducted in all the three Assembly constituencies of District Bandipora namely 9-Gurez, 10-Bandipora and 11-Sonawari by the respective Returning Officers of the constituencies.
A total of 16 nomination papers were received in 10-Bandipora constituency out of which 14 were accepted while other two were rejected by the Returning officer. In 9-Sonawari constituency 9 out of the 10 nomination papers were accepted while one was rejected and in 11-Gurez constituency all the 4 candidates passed the scrutiny.
All the three constituencies of district Bandipora are going to polls in the first phase of the five phased assembly elections in the state o November 25, 2014.
