Srinagar, Mar 15 (KMW): In view of the weather forecast issued by state’s metrological department, authorities Saturday announced that the schools shall remain closed till March 20.

According to the KMW correspondent, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Shalinder Kumar while addressing press immediately after holding detailed meet with the DCs across valley here, stated that the administration is fully prepared to tackle the problems caused due to the snowfall as predicted by weather department. The Met office had earlier issued a handout in which heavy to moderate snowfall was predicted in valley from March 15 to 18.
Div Com stated further that educational institutes in valley shall remain closed till March 20. Commenting over the possible crises expected to emerge after the snowfall in valley, Div Com stated that every district will get 18 men from SDRF which will be assigned to electric department.
He added further that till the weather improves, snow cutters will leave their headquarters at 4 am on daily basis and that efforts are being made so that we have at least one dewatering pump in every locality here so that the issues of water lodging could be avoided. (KMW)
