Schoolboy drowns in Jhelum

Srinagar: A tenth class student at Biscoe School drowned in river Jhelum here after he allegedly entered into a bet with his friend here on Friday. Eyewitnesses said that Two friends Shakir Ashraf Bhat and Sheikh Suleman entered into a bet and jumped foot bridge into river Jhelum here around 12:15 hours. While Sheikh successfully swam across, Shaker son of Mohammad Ashraf Bhat of Nowgam, drowned. “Police, Civil defence and River Police are on job to recover the body,” a police spokesman said here.
