Srinagar: Chief Patron Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi (MeA) Muhammad Azam Inqilabi, while condemning the arrest of the pro-Islamic youth who protested against the blasphemous and sacrilegious US film, said in a statement, “In a situation where in Indian-held Kashmir school and college curriculum is made profane by grafting sacrilegious symbolic, figurative and emblematic caricature into it and conscientious pro-Islamic young boys are arrested and persecuted by the Indian police for no fault of theirs except that they display exuberant and ebullient love and respect for Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in demonstrations, the leaders of Azad Kashmir relish the controversy whether Gilgit Baltistan is a part of Azad Kashmir establishment or not.

Well, it is a fact that the state of Jammu and Kashmir of 1947 is, as a whole, disputed; however it is equally true that Syed Salah-ud-din, the UJC chief, despite ardent desire to co-opt the youth pf Gilgit Baltistan for armed resistance in Kashmir, did not succeed in literally roping in even 24 young people of Gilgit Baltistan during the past 24 years.

It is a stark reality that the Dogras of Jammu and Muslims of Gilgit Baltistan are not a part of the resistance movement of Kashmir. That is why Kashmiri Mujahedeen precluded these zones from their ambit of activities. We, for years on end, have persistently been emphasizing with logic based on objectivity and pragmatism that, in the first phase, areas which host Kashmiri Mujahedeen should be demilitarized on either side of the LOC. It is obligatory for the resistance leaders of Srinagar and Muzaffarabad to create unanimity of thought and action to facilitate the early withdrawal of Indian and Pakistani troops from Kashmir that straddles the LOC. A peaceful comprehensive democratic resistance movement should be prioritized if at all we all are concerned with mitigating and alleviating the sufferings of the heroic people of Kashmir. Rationalism and realism should form the base and bedrock of our pacifist resistance campaign.

In the backdrop of the nuclear weapons and missiles of India and Pakistan it is immaterial to prioritize the deployment of troops at the mountain peaks of Siachen or seaport. Kashmir is a nuclear flashpoint and it will continue to be so unless Kashmir issue is settled in accordance with the freedom aspirations of Kashmiris. The two countries, India and Pakistan, have already suffered in four conventional fatal wars. And now there is a real threat of nuclear holocaust due to the presence of nuclear weapons and missiles.

Is it not a fact that Indian leaders made a solemn pledge and promise regarding a plebiscite in Kashmir; and later on blatantly reneged on it to the astonishment of the whole world? Indian rulers, instead of keeping their world, used all the modes of repression and oppression to decimate and eliminate the lakhs of freedom loving people of Kashmir. So betrayal, egocentricity, obduracy, domineering megalomania and imperialistic mindset of Indian rulers sanctified genocide, mayhem, carnage and scourge in Kashmir.

Well it is a different story that carnage could not corner the resistance movement of Kashmir. Instead it added to the resolve of Kashmiris. Politics of “onions and potatoes” (the Loc barter) cannot lessen the hardships of Kashmiris beleaguered by the apathetic neighbors. Indian rulers should divest themselves of neurotic Kashmir fixation and subjective arrogance.

Allow Kashmiris to exercise their right to self-determination through a free and fair referendum. And democratic parliament of united Kashmir is the proper institution to facilitate the democratic verdict of Kashmiris. All the resistance leaders of Srinagar and Muzaffarabad should launch a comprehensive peaceful democratic resistance campaign to force India and Pakistan to see reason in Kashmir case. Please don’t make Kashmiris an expendable pawn in your war of attrition drawing inspiration from your national aggrandizement. Feel afraid of the law of retribution. Providence can wreak havoc if your stratocracy in Kashmir continues to smother and strangulate Kashmiris. God Almighty will certainly come to our rescue. We have reposed absolute trust in Him. He will not leave us in lurch.” (KMW News)
