Lucknow, July 15 In a blow to the Samajwadi Party-led alliance in Uttar Pradesh, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) President Omprakash Rajbhar on Friday announced his support NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu in the presidential election.
The SBSP has six MLAs in the Uttar Pradesh assembly. In assembly polls this year, the SBSP allied with the Samajwadi Party against the BJP-led coalition.
Rajbhar, however, clarified that he remained with the Samajwadi Party but made several critical comments about its leader and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
“On the request of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Home Minister Amit Shah, we have decided to support Murmu,” he said.
