Jammu March 16: Vice Chairman DPAP GM Saroori, also candidate for Lok Sabha seat Udhampur-Doda, chaired office bearers meetings in Banihal, Ramban, Kishtwar, and Doda focusing on gearing up for the upcoming election campaign. Saroori emphasized unity among office bearers and urged commencement of campaign activities on the ground. He expressed confidence in winning, citing anti-incumbency sentiments toward the BJP candidate and people’s desire for change. Saroori noted the absence of the BJP MP’s visits to the areas since winning. He mentioned the public’s trust in Chairman DPAP Ghulam Nabi Azad, noting that Azad was the only leader from J&K who spoke on issues like Article 370, Statehood, and others while others remained silent. Saroori stated, “Only Ghulam Nabi Azad spoke like a warrior; all others were silent.” he said. Saroori promised to raise public issues and work towards their resolution. He also cautioned against hate and religious politics, emphasizing that their focus would solely be on the welfare of the people. He stated, “Other parties may play the religious card, but division only damages communities. We must focus on development as people are suffering without electricity, water, schools, and jobs. It’s imperative that we undertake this work.” The office bearers pledged full support to Saroori, expressing confidence in his leadership for victory. Accompanying Saroori were Chief Spokesperson DPAP Salman Nizami, Zonal President P.R. Manhas, Distt President Ramban Thakur Dharam Chand, VP Province Javid Malik, Distt President Doda Asif Gattu, and Distt President Kishtwar Shabir Lone and others.
