Sagar to establish free medical camps in far off, poor localities

SRINAGAR: Minister for Rural Development, Panchayat Raj and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar today said that Government is committed to provide health care facilities to people of Jammu and Kashmir especially the poor and needy.
The Minister was speaking after inaugurating a free medical camp at Sheikh Colony, Bachi Darwaza near Ziyarat-i-Makhdoom Sahib (RA).
As many as 300 patients were treated in the camp and provided free of cost medicines.
Mr. Sagar said that various new schemes have been introduced in the Health department for providing health care facilities to the rural and far flung areas. He said free medical camps are yielding good results at the ground level. He directed Director Health Services Kashmir to establish such free camps in the localities where poor people are living so that they can get advantage of the facilities being provided by the Government.
Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman gave a detailed a brief of health scenario on the occasion.
A team of 8 doctors and para-medical staff provided their services in the camp. (KMW NEWS)
