SRINAGAR: The Minister for Science and Technology, Sheep and Animal Husbandry, Aga Ruhullah today visited Zadibal and Hassanabad areas in Sheri Khas and interacted with people especially Shia sect. He enquired about the Muharram arrangements being made by the Government.
The Minister was accompanied by a team of senior officers including Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Chief Engineer (R&B) and officers of PHE, Power Development Department, Srinagar Municipal Corporation and Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution.
The Minister was informed that during last one week 1900 quintals of firewood have been distributed among the inhabitants of the area and further 1700 quintals are being provided within one or two days.
At Hassanabad, the Minister was informed that the water supply, sanitation and other essential supplies remain satisfactory. However, the Minister directed concerned officers to provide all facilities in Ashai Bagh, Tangkhan, Rangar Staff and Mir Behree localities during Muharram days.
The Minister directed the Chief Engineer R&B to conduct a survey for construction of link road from Sazgaripora to Khushal Sar. He also directed for installation of mass lights and gen sets.
Aga Ruhullah also directed for ensuring uninterrupted power supply during Muharram days in Shia dominated areas.
During the visit, various deputations including representatives of Anjuman-i-Shari-Shian and Hussaini Welfare Organization met the Minister and projected their demands.
The Minister assured them that their genuine demands would be addressed in a phased manner.
Earlier, the Minister paid obeisance at the Shrine of Mir Shamus-ud-Din Ali Iraqi at Zadibal and prayed for the prosperity of the State.
