Rs 50 cr to be spent on beautification, upgradation of facilities at Hazratbal Shrine

SRINAGAR DECEMBER 29: Minister of State for Social Welfare, Health & Medical Education and Housing & Urban Development Department, Ms. Asiea Naqash today said that government has Rs 50 crore for the beautification of Hazratbal Shrine and the work would be taken up shortly.
Ms. Asiea said that a Baitul Zaireen will be constructed at Jenab Sahib Soura for the convenience of the devotees and measures are afoot to start the work on the project.
Addressing a public gathering at Nigeen Club, the Minister said the coalition Government headed by Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti is committed for welfare and prosperity of the people of the State. She said Hospital coming up in Batapora and College in Zakura will be completed next year.
The Minister said late Mufti Mohammad Syed had a dream to make Hazratbal a model Constituency and various initiatives have been taken in this regard. She said Hazratbal Constituency has good potential for tourism related activities. She said steps are being taken to develop Burzahama as a tourist village adding development of all other areas of Hazratbal Constituency is also being ensured. She directed the officers of the Tourism Department to prepare a comprehensive project to tap the tourism potential of the area, which would generate employment opportunities for the locals.
On the occasion, several deputations and individuals called on the Minister and apprised about the issues confronting them.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to all the deputationists and assured them that their genuine grievances would be redressed on priority.
Officers of PHE, R&B, PDD, Health, SMC, Tourism and other concerned departments were present on the occasion.
