Srinagar: The Centre and State governments have sanctioned a package of Rs. 1618.40 crore for the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Migrants.
This was stated by Minister of State for Revenue Nasir Aslam Wani in reply to a question raised by Vijay Bakaya.
He said 3000 posts were created and separate rules were notified and 2148 appointment orders were issued against which 1441 candidates joined. He said the government has referred 1554 unfilled posts to the SSB/Relief Commissioner, J&K for selection.
The Minister said regarding the remaining 3000 posts to be funded by the State Government, the matter has been taken up with Union Home Ministry. He said 505 transit accommodation units have been constructed in the Kashmir Valley for the members of Pandit Community.
Replying to another question by Master Noor Hussain, the Minister informed the House that four cases of violation of Revenue Laws are presently pending with Tehsildar Samba and 15 cases in district Jammu under section 133 of the Land Revenue Act.
The Minister said that under section 133 of Land Revenue Act, read with section 13 of the Agrarian Reforms Act, the revenue officers are competent to take action against those who violate existing laws. This is a continuous process being followed in the Revenue department, he added.
He said instructions have been issued to the field functionaries of the Revenue Department to take appropriate legal action to stop illegal construction on such land within the existing legal frame work. (KMW News)
